To Move Mountains

Challenge

In the summer of 2018 To Move Mountains, a startup NGO, was in need of new donors, partnerships, representation, and committed professionals to join its cause. The founder was managing the organization while pursuing a Master's degree, which was pivotal for the NGO's future, particularly in establishing educational facilities in the Nuba Mountains. The goal was to train local educators who would eventually teach at the Mustard Seed Primary School (MSPS). Staff members oscillated between the US and Sudan, as the organization prepared to launch high school and teacher training programs for a select group of Nuba students.

Strategy

Frontier Social stepped in to address these challenges. We focused on building a strong online presence for To Move Mountains, leveraging social media to connect with donors, partners, and potential staff. As the founder completed his education and returned to Sudan in 2023, we intensified our fundraising efforts to gather the necessary funds to construct the Mustard Seed Primary School and the subsequent Mount Zion Teacher Training School. Our strategy included managing their social media from afar, transforming limited communications into engaging content to keep the donor base informed and involved, and leading annual fundraising campaigns.

Outcome

The outcome has been monumental. Within a short timeframe, we successfully raised funds for the construction of the MSPS and the teacher training facility, followed by expansions to meet the growing demand for education in this war-torn region. Now years after our partnership began, To Move Mountains now operates almost exclusively in Sudan, focusing on educational development, while Frontier Social continues to spearhead their social media presence, fundraising efforts, and donor communications from the US. Our work has not only helped in the physical expansion of educational facilities but also in maintaining a robust, engaged community of supporters worldwide, proving our capability to manage complex, international non-profit operations effectively.
